Lennar seeks approval for 57 townhouses on Coltharp Road
The builder also wants permission to drop the required 20-foot gap between lots to nothing. County staff supported that waiver, citing the large centralized park it would allow.
Lennar Carolinas has asked York County to approve a preliminary plat for Wedgewood, a 57-townhouse development on 10.82 acres on the east side of Coltharp Road in Fort Mill.
Alongside the plat, the builder requested a Land Development Waiver to reduce the required separation between contiguous sublots from 20 feet to zero — the arrangement that lets townhouses share walls rather than stand apart.
County staff recommended approving that waiver, writing that it would “allow for the development of a large centralized park.”
The site is made up of three lots and is zoned Residential Mixed 6. Both requests went before the York County Planning Commission on its June 8 agenda.
